Local, Friendly and Affordable
We are a local, friendy and very affordable swimming club offering lessons by our team of volunteer teachers. We are affiliated to Swim England and follow the National Plan for teaching Swimming.
Our lessons are held at Dawlish Leisure Centre, whilst the Teignmouth Lido has been closed we have remained at Dawlish.
For the pre competitive swimmer, usually having achieved stages 8-10, lessons are held on a Monday evening.
For our learn to swim, Stages 1-8, for children aged 5 and up, we swim on a Friday evening.

About Us
Since the late 1970's Teignmouth Swimming Club has been teaching the children of Teignmouth and surrounding areas to swim. The clubs journey started in the swimmingpool on the seafront that is now our skate park. When the Lido opened in 1976 the club found its new home. We are a relaxed club that aims to give all children a positive experience through their swimming journey. We aim to maintain a small group ratio ideally having no more than 4 swimmers to 1 teacher in the early stages, up to maxamium of 8 children per lane in the older groups. From learn to swim through to coaching we aim for all children to achieve to their full potential, we’re proud to teach not only the love of the water, but to also to improve fitness and survival skills.

How to Join
Contact us via our facbook page to enquire about joining.​

We will try to arrange a trial and offer a suitable space, if we have any available to suit the swimmer.

Once your space is confirmed, head to the documents section on this site.
You can access all the 'New Member' documents and complete before your lessons start.
​
We will provide you with payment details and get your membership to the club and Swim England set up.
​
At times we are unable to offer a trial immeditely as the club has no spaces. In this instance, we will try to accomodate a trial later in the year when spaces are likely to have opened up.
